George Harrison was born on February 25, 1943 in Liverpool. His parents were Louise and Harold Harrison. George attended
the Dovedale Primary School with his brother Peter. In 1954, he became a student at the Liverpool Institute. George was a
bad student at school. He was interested in music at a very early age. He started a group with his brother and another friend
called The Rebels. Around this time George met Paul McCartney at the Liverpool Institute. He joined The Quarry Men with Paul,
John Lennon, and Ken Brown.
In 1960, when the group went to Hamburg, George was forced to go back to England, for he was only seventeen.
George became a better song writer than the other Beatles had thought over the years. Some early compositions of George
were Don't Bother Me, I Need You, You Like Me Too Much, Think For Yourself, If I Needed Someone, Taxman, Love You To, and
I Want To Tell You.
George met model Pattie Boyd, and they were married January 21, 1966.
George met Ravi Shankar and Mahareshi Yogi. From Ravi Shankar, George learned to love Indian music and play the sitar.
George learned spiritual inner peace and mdeditation from Yogi.
George's later works include Within You Without You, Blue Jay Way, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Piggies, Long Long
Long, Savoy Truffle, The Inner Light, Only A Northern Song, Here Comes The Sun, and Something. George's first solo album was
All Things Must Pass.
George and Pattie were divorced on June 9, 1977. George later married Olivia Arias.
George joined Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, and Roy Orbinson to form The Traveling Wilburys in 1988. The group
was a big success.
In the late 90s George survived a knife attack from an intruder. Sadly, in 2001, George was taken by cancer.
